​​Thargomindah State School operates a co-educational Kindergarten to Year Six structure. The Kindy program is delivered in line with both the National Quality Standards and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines. The Prep to Year Six program is aligned to the Australian Curriculum ensuring the Year Level Achievement Standard is met in all learning areas - English, Mathematics, Science, HASS, Technology, HPE and The Arts. The school offers French LOTE lessons for students in Prep through to year 6. The Physical Education program is implemented with maximum participation and encourages skill development in swimming, athletics, team games and hand-eye coordination and gross motor based activities.​

​Information & Communication Technology

Every student has access to an iPad and laptop every day. This technology is used to engage, assist, enhance and improve student learning. Units of work around STEM are offered in partnership with SANTOS.

Social Climate

A positive school-wide approach is used to create and maintain a safe, supportive and disciplined learning environment. A heavy focus on the school rules 'Be Safe', 'Be Respectful', 'Be Responsible' coupled with high expectations both in and out of the classroom. The Student Code of Conduct underpins the behaviour management policies and practices across the school. The personal development program, 'Respectful relationships' coupled with 'Smiling Minds wellbeing framework' was introduced into the whole-school curriculum in 2021 and has been successfully delivered and used to prepare students with the strategies needed to develop sound values like; respect, cooperation and resilience.

Case Study School - Learning Walls 2020
At Thargomindah State School part of our pedagogy is learning walls. The purpose of learning walls is to assist the students with their learning during the term. They are forever evolving and changing. The main part of learning walls is to ensure they are co-constructed with students.
